Hi Flying to Chennai in March and was thinking of taking this route, Please can anyone advise if this is the right order to travel:

Chennai %26gt; Mallamapuram %26gt; Pondicherry %26gt;Kodikanal%26gt; Madurai%26gt; Trivandrum%26gt; Allepuzha %26gt; Kochin %26gt; Goa

Does this make sense, and does anyone know how you get from one place to the other??

Hi fazeel, thanks for replying, I think we are going to go by car from Chennai%26gt;mallamapuram%26gt;pondicherry. Not sure whether its best to go by car or train to Kodaikanal from pondicherry?

Not sure about Kodaikanal to Madurai either.

Would prob like to get train if quicker from Madurai to Trivandrum?

Will go by bus/car to allepuzha.

Houseboat to Kochi, fly from Kochi to Goa.

After Kodi we really wanted to get down to Kovalam and Varkalam thats why we were gong to Trivandrum as I beleive they are not far. From KOV/Varkalam wanted to go to allepuzha to catch house boat to Kochi as we have already booked flight from Kochi to Goa. Therefore from Kodaikanal whats the best way toget down to Kovalam etc Is it best to go back to Madurai or is there somewhere else we can go to connect us down to Triv/Kov/Varkalam

Will think about different route then on House boat,we only want to spend 1 night, so we will just make our way from wherever the house boat finishes to Kochin to pick up the flight, we are flexible with dates anyway.

Can we book Train from Mad to Triv when we arrive at Madurai station or is it best to book from UK? How many days do you think you should stay at Kodaikanal?

Was interested in the Quillom Train that goes overnight from Madurai to triv, is this a daily train, or set days it runs?

Yes it is a daily train. One of my guest referd a resort in Kodaikanal. The picture was beautifull, I forgot the name of that resort. I will double check %26amp; let you know the same

Thinking about getting train from Madurai to trivandrum on train no727 Quilon pass that goes overnight. Indiarail offers only standard 1st class, which looks a bit grotty, says no AC 2/3 tier.Is this an ok way to travel is it safe?
