Anyone have recommendations on a reputable car-service for a one-way trip from Jodhpur to Udaipur, with a stop in Ranakpur? I realize I may have to pay for the car to get back to Jodhpur but traveling by car seems to be the best bet.

You can try contactinc Mr. Anil Shinha from 4whell drive india. We used the services of his company last October for our trip through Rajasthan. You probably already know that driving in India is a nightmare so the driver and the safety of the car used is essential. Mr. Shinha has been recommended to us by our friends and are we glad to have hired his company!! By the way - we also did the route mentioned - from Udaipur to Jhodpur via Ranakpur. Amazing and with Anil%26#39;s drivers - you will be able to enjoy the view on your way. (we used the services of another company for another part of India. What a difference! ). We did the journey by bus, it took a little over five hours and we missed out on Ranakpur. I would probably avoid bus, another time. The distance if I recall is about 250 kms and you should ask around before you finalise the cab, it should cost about Rs 7/km, and the distance charged will be both ways.

you can get in touch with the Haveli guest house people who have thier travel desk or MArwar Eco Travel office just in front of the guest house . you can also get good suggestions for the whole trip in rajasthan form the haveli people.
