Ghandi Market - Crawford Market

Hi

Anyone give me insight as to the difference between the two markets and best choice to buy suits that can be tailored into Punjabi Suits?

Which out the two have a better selection of wedding bangles, normal bangles and Jewelry please?

Any other Market to shop for the above things? I haven%26#39;t got alot of time so need to pin down which Market to go to.

Ghandi Market - Crawford Market

Hi....don%26#39;t know about your specific requirements from the above markets, but you could try the bustling Colaba Causeway market. I find the %26#39;Narisons%26#39; Shop (next to Leopold Cafe) good for Stitching stuff. They also stock fabulous kurtas and kurtis.

All the Best.

Since no one else has posted - here is more info:

Near Crawford Market is Mangaldas market, which is a wholesale cloth market and has lots of fabric to buy. There are all sorts of price ranges available at Mangaldas, starting from Rs. 250 or so for a cotton/synthetic salwar suit, and going upto thousands for the more fancy ones. The nicer ones (wedding type) are available in the upstairs sections of little shops, you climb up through narrow staircases, sit on the floor of the shops in the old fashioned style and buy.

Between Mangaldas and Gandhi market, I%26#39;d say Gandhi Market anyday, because they have a better range across all price ranges. There are also a couple of really fancy shops. Does not open before 11 a.m., starts stirring at 10:30 a.m.

Jewellery is good at Zaveri Bazaar behind Mangaldas, but gandhi market has a reasonably good selection as well. Try going to the Sia shop at Matunga (very close to Gandhi Market). There are also some other very good shops near Matunga Station and Dadar for jewellery.

Thanks so much. Could you please tell me if Ghandi Market is open on Sundday please?

Just to point out that it is spelt G-a-n-d-h-i. Ghandi is a common misspelling of the name by Westerners.

It%26#39;s closed Mondays, I think. I went there this Sunday with my sister (she wanted to buy salwar suit for an awards function) and it was totally alive! I thought about you, coburg. The suits there have lots of embroidery and embellishment. If you are look for plain and simple, that%26#39;s there too.

Thank you so much. We arrive on a Sunday so will make sure after santacruz we go their. Just wish I had more time in Mumbai.

I am looking for heavy stuff aswell as plain simple but elegant suits. A wedding suit rather than lengha and the bangles etc to go with them.

Is their any places in the Market that you can recommend? I know it%26#39;s going to have many stalls but with so little time I really need to be able to find outfits quickly.

We have found a salwar Kameez to wear on the wedding on the seasons website though will have to pay more for separate scarf as it needs to be heavy, if you don%26#39;t mind can you have a look and give me your opinion. You click into new arrivals it%26#39;s on page two (7-12) it%26#39;s number 10 second picture down on the right. It%26#39;s description starts with East meets West.

Thanks again
