Day trips from Calangute

Hi,

I%26#39;m going to Calangute at the beginning of March. Am thinking of trying to arrange some day trips out. Found a couple for elephant tours- just wondered if its best to book stuff in advance or do it when we get there?

Plus what are the best things to see - places to go!

Need some ideas!

best to book when you get there either through a taxi driver or there are a few shacks etc.. that will arrange them for you,don%26#39;t use the reps as they are a rip off. I%26#39;ll bump up a thread by perrystanks titled ';trips from the north'; it is a good list.

One trip I would recommend would be the overnight rice boat trip which starts from the creek near coco beach. Most of the taxi drivers in calangute will know it. The rooms on board are great, the food is excellent and the trip is just fantastic. I think from memory it costs about £50 per person. We go on March 6th and will be doing the trip again.

Im pretty sure first choice were charging this at xmas last year. (might be wrong)

sorry i left my computer for an hour and did not know if id sent it or not!

thr r a lot of t.agent who deal with trips/excursion at calagute. but it is more advisable to meet the trip organisers themselves as they have their offices in calagute itself n they helped me with lots of my trips/sightseening at a good price.

i had been fr a overnight elephant trip n it wz amazing. booked from their office on calagute beach road.

if u wish to get their number i might have it.

then thr r boat trips like house boats which 1 can hire 4 a day.

places of interest old goa with beautiful churches, dudsager waterfall, the manificant white church panjim city with lots of stairs. g8t beaches baaga beach, palolem beach

try avoid the reps. they r a rip off.
