Hindu Festivals in March

between March 14th-29th to be precise in Kerala.

Given that they work on a different calendar and are sometimes every other year, I can%26#39;t work out the dates. Anyone have dates and location of any Festivals in that area ?

I know of only Holi, or the Festival of colours in that time. Its on March 21-22. Don%26#39;t know how far it is celebrated in Kerala though, but its a big festival in most of India.

You can do a search on the forum for holi as it has been discussed before.

21 march is Id - big in Kerala

22 is Good friday - big in Kerala

23 is Holi - basically a North Indian festival where revellers [many unruly] throw coloured water on everybody else - plus point: not a traditional Kerala festival so unlikely to be celebrated.

24 is Easter - very big in Kerala

Can I just check those dates for 2008 ! Good Friday will surely be on Friday 21st rather than on the 23rd ?!

On which date then is id and what is this festival ?

Re Easter, I have read that it is a tradition the week after Easter to climb a hill to a Cross. Where is this situated exactly ?

Good Friday is more likely to be celebrated on Friday 21st rather than on Saturday 22nd :)

Actually, March 21 has 3 festivals on the same date, Holi - Hindu, Good Friday - Christian and a Muslim festival on the same date, possibly Id but I am not sure.
