Buses from Agra to Jaipur?

My sister and me are visiting Agra for one day in March. We will continue from Agra to Jaipur and we would like to leave Agra late morning or early afternoon. For that time I think the bus is our only option. Could you please let me know where are the buses departing in Agra? At Agra bus station? At some specific bus stop?

We would like to get the seats at air conditioned bus and I understand they leave at 10.00 or 11.30 a.m or 2.30 p.m (A/C Goldline, RSRTC - I found the unconfirmed timetables at www.rsrtc.gov.in/Result_Timetable.asp). Do you know if it is possible to book the seats in advance and/or buy the tickets to the bus in advance by net or when we arrive to Agra? If yes, how could we do it? If no, how early should we be queuing at bus stop? Also, is it safe for two women to travel at daytime in a long way bus?

yes, at the main bus station (deluxe coaches are available only from sindhi camp bus stand). there is an hourly bus connection from 6:30 - 17:30 from agra to jaipur, check out http://www.jaipurtravel.com/jaipur_bus.htm for the schedule.

how r u ? my dear friend from AGRA to JAIPUR every hours buses leave from hotel sakura idgah bus stand 1st bus start from 06-30 am it is A/C bus then 07-30 , 08-30,09-30,10-30, 11-30 A/C , 1 pm , 14-30 pm A/C ,16-30 pm , 17-30 pm, 19-30 pm ,22 pm, 23 pm , 24 pm that;s it . and do u want booked the tickit then u go there one day before it is opend from 6-30 am to 24-00 pm . from agra to jaipur it is cost NON A/C 173 indian rupees par parsan , and A/C 300 indian rupees. ok if u need any information then ask any time ..

the all buses are deluxe bus .and it is much comfortabels .

i beg you differ, dear previous poster...not all busses are a/c deluxe. i was on a regular commuter bus - there surely was no a/c and nothing about it was %26#39;deluxe%26#39; lol....

There%26#39;s a train at 10:45 (Ananya Express), leaves from Agra Fort, and arrives at Jaipur 18:30.

There%26#39;s also another one at 16:35. JANSADHARAN EXPRESS leaves Agra Fort at 16:35 and arrives Jaipur at 20:55

A car would be smarter.

Thank you all for your replies. If I understand correctly from this and the other posts, trains or hired car + driver are most recommended vehicles while travelling in India. We are already getting trains from Delhi to Agra and from Jaipur to Delhi.

Deepa (or someone else), do you know how much the average cost be to hire a car + driver (taxi?) to take us from Agra to Jaipur? We would like to get the air conditioned car and English speaking driver. How long is it approximately taking to make a trip by car?

how r u ? if u hire a car-taxi from agra to jaipur on the way FATEHPUR-SIKRI so it is cost around 3200 indian rupees it is A/C car .

To check if you are getting a sensible rate, check the number of kilometers you need to travel. At the lowest end, an air-conditioned Indica might cost Rs. 6.50 per kilometer. A toyota qualis is about 8.50 (probably what you should go for). You will also need to pay around 100 or 150 as driver allowance.
