Honeymoon suggestions please?

Hi all, I know everyone is probably sick of people asking for hotel recommendations, but I have come to a bit of a dead end with the reviews here.

My hubby-to-be and I are heading to Mumbai for part of our honeymoon - for 5 nights. We want somewhere that is clean and not too expensive to stay. I can live without a pool and all that fancy stuff but would like an ensuite bathroom, safety deposit and minibar/fridge in the room.

So far the three hotels we are considering, based on reviews here and forum posts, are:-

Shelley%26#39;s

West End Hotel

Hotel Godwin

Any other honeymoon tips or suggetsions are more than welcome. Thank you thank you!

Oh, also would like hotels that will accept and honour bookings made in advance if possible. I%26#39;ve heard this isn%26#39;t common?

Time of stay is August 2008.

Cheers

Shelley%26#39;s has shut down.

Between West End and Godwin, Godwin is better located.

Look for The Residency Fort and The Ascot. Have read here that Ascot is very unresponsive and may, on occassion, renege on bookings. The Residency, although also difficult to get responses from, enjoys a better reputation at honouring bookings. Calling them is better than emailing them.

The Residency is much better and cost effective too. Just don%26#39;t use their transfer facilities as they charge a lot more than the normal taxi fares. The rooms are fine and even though they don%26#39;t have a restaurant in the hotel it is easy to eat at many of the lovely restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel like Mahesh Lunch Home, Brittania, Jimmy Boy, Mocambo, 5 Spice, Tea Center and lots more in the Colaba area as well.

Cheers,

Aadil.
