Purely ouy of interest has anybody in the last 7 days got their visa in person from London Embassy ? What was it like for time please. I dont need mine, but a friend of a friend is going. Thanks

Why bother with the hastle of going to London when there is such a fast postal service of approx 8 days.

Exactly, as previously posted this week got mine back within 5 days of posting (including weekend). OK paid for the postal order charge and special delivery there and back (we live in the North West) but to be fair would have paid that not to queue in line. Was very impressed with the efficient service actually.

Like i said its not for me, i got mine in person 27th Dec no hassle for me 25 minute drive to Indian Embassy in London. Got there at 8.40 back home midday. Friends only booked yesterday and travel 15th mar, so in the event that passports do go astray they would prefer to go in person. Cant really see it being that busy now. I may consider a postal application for my next trip.

Well my advise is to tell your friend to go in person. It certainly isnt worth risk due to leaving it a little tight for postal applications.

I went down to the High Commission on friday. started queing at 8.30 and wasnt dealt with until 11.15. Then had to go back at three to collect, which took another hour.

Not the best thing to do, but given time scale it would be highly advisable to do it in person!
