Colonia Santa Maria

Hi all. Am going to Goa for the first time at the beginning of April. I don%26#39;t think this is the ideal time to go as it is the end of the season from what I can understand but due to the limitations of the school hols we have no choice! Will the weather still be good? We are staying at the Colonia Santa Maria and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this hotel? Location? (seems ok from what I can make out) Things to do/see locally and any suggestions for trips out and about? Anywhere which is a must to eat? I love curry!! Am so excited about trying lots of different food.

Any tips/suggestions would be gratly appreciated. Am really looking forward to it and want to make the most of our holiday. Also, malaria tablets - i know this is a taboo subject but still haven%26#39;t figured out which are best to take! Even after reading loads about it.

Many thanks in advance for any tips!

Hiya, have a lovely time. The weather will be a bit hotter and stickier than during our winter but I gether you%26#39;re expecting that.

The CSM (as it%26#39;s known) is ideally situated a few minutes walk from the beach in one direction and Baga Road in the other. It is basic, cheap and cheerful; food ok and staff good.

Trips out ... basically we%26#39;ve done a lot of them but not really worth the bother unless something really attracts you - just chill and be there. If you want to go on a trip book a taxi for the day to take you to wherever you have in mind.

Biggest tip - get a taxi independently from the Airport. Much better than waiting for organised transport and it will cost you a fraction of what a tour operator will charge.

Hi,

Last time we stayed in Guest House Candolim.

Only $35 for air-conditioned room.

Good it was... good time in CAndolim...

Danny.

Just back CSM seemed really nice passed it everyday.

Go to the Big Bananna Beach Bar at the bottom of the road, excellent staff and food, Try Indian Kitchen behind Our Lady of Piety Church, lovely food.

Day Tripper good for organised trips.

Seen similar reply to danny101,s on the good or bad candolim beach post. That reply was from ukgoody. Is this the same person advertising? If i am wrong, then apologies!
