Best Resort in Goa

I%26#39;m looking for the best resort in Goa. The comments so far suggest going to South Goa. We want a really nice clean beach, good for swimming and a great luxury hotel. Is the Leela the only one? Also is 3 nights enough in Goa? Will there be anything to do there other than the beach?

I really don%26#39;t think three days is enough in Goa if you want to do more than just beach it. There is tons to do and see, whether you are interested in temples, spice gardens, wild-life, markets, village life, river trips, waterfalls etc., and it doesn%26#39;t matter where you are based in Goa be it North or South for trips, as long as you are happy to sit in a taxi, there is a taxi driver happy to take you around and show you the sights for really very little money. I have stayed in Calengute in the North (for my sins - will probably never do that again) and most recently Cavelossim in the south - and I loved it there - different as chalk and cheese, but then again I stayed in a guest house which was a far cry from luxury, because i wanted to spend most of my time experiencing the area, not the insides of a hotel.

Thanks for your reply. It sounds like the south it is!

I would go for the Leela or The Taj Exotica and as has been said 3 days isn%26#39;t long enough.....there is so much to do and see.

There are more 5 star hotels in the south than in the north. It%26#39;s quieter as well, but because Goa%26#39;s such a small state, you can get to everywhere you want to go without much difficulty from practically anywhere. The Intercontinental%26#39;s a bit isolated, but apart from that they%26#39;re all accessible. Swimming in the sea can be a bit dodgy at some times of the year, so check before you dive in.

I have seen the Leela, the Exotica and have stayed at the Park Hyatt (all in the South).

By any yardstick, the best resort in Goa is the Park Hyatt. Nice beach, extra-large swimming pool, very good rooms with sunken bath tubs and outdoor rain showers.
