hotel choice

I am undecided between staying at the Taj Hari Mahal or the Ajit Bhawan hotel in Jodphur. What do you advise please?

hotel choice

There are reviews for both hotels in the tripadvisor hotel section:

Both hotels are very expensive for India.

These hotels are very expensive to stay instead stay in mid range hotels like haveli guest house or pal haveli which has amazing views great emenities can also arrange pickups for you .Also you will have to come to the old city to see the monuments so its better that you stay in the old city with all the places at walking distance . you can get thier best room in 1800Rs with the view of the fort at haveli guest house .

Have a great journey . also they can suggest other nice hotels and give travel tips to you .

I think Kathie is absolutely right.

Stay in the old city and walk to everything.

Haveli Guest House is ideal.... clean and comfortable, helpful staff, right in the old city, and so close to the clock tower that it%26#39;s easy to find. And the view from the front rooms is wonderful!

You won%26#39;t get such western amenities as a lift, but you will get to eat from their rooftop restaurant and gaze at the fort by sunset.

The other Jodhpur hoteliers know how good the Haveli is; a couple of iother places have opened up with the same name -- there are, apparently, no laws against such things -- and have organised with some of the taxi drivers to deliver them to THEIR establishments and talk them into believeing that they have arrived at ';the'; Haveli. When we stayed there, we downloaded a photograph from the internet site and emphasized to our autorickshaw driver that THIS was the place we wanted. Just to make sure, when you pull up outside, there is an old step-well dirctly opposite.

So I second Kathie%26#39;s recommendation of the Haveli!

My suggestion is Devi Bhawan. We stayed here for 3 nights and it is incredible-ask for room 15.
