Hi Does anyone know approx how many restaurants there are in Varkala - I believe there are som on the north cliff, are there others too
Also whats the cost of living when your there - any examples alsolikely restaurant prices?
Finally does anyone know what the wether is like at the moment as have read a bit about rain - Im only going at the end of March - any ideas what it will be like then

There are lots and lots of restaurant on the entire stretch of the north cliff , the papanasam cliff area , thiruvampady beach area etc
There are rooms from INR 500 upto INR 4000 and more on the luxury side . you can find places suiting to the budget and requirements
The weather here is bright and end of march will be even more warmer. clear sky

I would guess there must be over 20 restaurants of all shapes sizes and prices along the cliff. Costs vary according the fare, but the sea food is excellent. We had a couple of dinners, at the unky Art Cafe one of the better places, costing us about $15-17 for my wife and me, with a bottle of beer thrown in.
I dont know about room prices, we stayed at Deshadan which cost around $100/day. There are a lot of homestay options available as well as lower priced places. March end is still four weeks away-enough time for the temperature to rise! The ayurvedic massages are well worth it, highly recommended!
