Tailor prices

Hi;-)

Could anybody help me with the prices of different items mady by a Goan tailor? How long time did it take having things made? How is the selection of materials in the tailor shops? What is the priceand quality of silk? Looking forward to hearing form people with experience:-)

There%26#39;s a wide range of price for clothing.

Good silk material for a Salwar Kameez could cost up to Rs1500 about €26; to sew the salwar, an honest price is Rs130 about €2 but because you are pinkie they can ask you Rs200 about €3,50.

Cotton material depending on design and quality could cost the same as silk. I bought cotton material for a Salwar at MiraDesign for Rs1100 about €20 and I paid Rs150 to the tailor to made it

Where did you buy the material - at the tailor or in another shop?

Where in Goa did you have it made? I wonder if the prices are very different from ';tourist areas'; to not so ';turisty areas';:-)

Well, I bought materials both in a shop than to the tailor lab in Panaji. Maybe if you got a friend he can suggest an experienced tailor, mine wasn%26#39;t bad but not the best.

My man paid £50 for a suite in good quality material, we think he got over charged really. We went and got it done the first day and hadn%26#39;t got our hagerling skills down. Don%26#39;t be afraid to haggel it%26#39;s the way things are done oh and expect to leave having brought twice as much as you wanted there very good at talking you up
