Holiday Tour of Delhi/Agra/Bharatpur/Ranthambore

I have just returned from the above tour and thoroughly enjoyed the adventure. Stayed in 4 hotels all good. Went to many sites of interest including of course the Taj Mahal............no words can describe the experience.

Visited the Rescued Sloth Bear Sanctuary...........fantastic ( invitation only)

Great bird watching at Bharatpur saw over 145 species with the expert help of our guides.

Fantastic game drives at the Ranthambore National Park seeing a Leopard... 4 Tigers.../ Jackals/ Crocodiles and many other mammals and fabulous birds.

A great adventure.

The negatives.

The poor air quality in the towns catches you in the throat and nose.

Having to tip everybody becomes stressfull.

The journey back on the last day (6 hours on a train then on to the airport ( Delhi airport is a shambles and is complete madness )

3hours to Dubai........stop for a couple of hours then 6 hours to Heathrow. I think I was up for 41 hours before I got my bed at home in Dorset.

But I would not have missed it for the world.

A great adventure experience.

Hi Indirosa

I%26#39;m Glad that u enjoyed the dream trip. I also went to Sariska on 25th feb (Rajasthan) and saw three leopards in a space of 1 hr (Leopards are really enjoying sariska in absence of tiger, the only plus i guess)

Indirosa - WOW, glad to hear you enjoyed it. We are off to all those places plus Jaipur and Kanha next week (first time to India), so delighted to read your thread. Thanks.

I agree with you on that..I have also not experienced many airports as chaotic as Delhi, in this country.

Yes, our Airports are no good but watch out in another 2-3 years time you will have Delhi Airports completely renovated and one of the most modern of all Indian Airports.

I am really looking forward to the new airport. Check out the promo vid on YouTube- it looks fantastic. Actually Delhi is looking so much better- is it investment for the Commonwealth Games? Connaught Place is getting a facelift, the new flyover and toll road to the airport is complete...it%26#39;s going to be fabulous for 2010!

Bingo Rajkumari...

Delhi will be reborn within two years time..

Yes, Delhi is getting a serious facelift ahead of the commonwealth games, also the economic boom is seeing lots of construction work like metro, malls, hotels, fly overs, Airport etc etc. All in all by 2010 Delhi should be like any decent South Asian city.
