Weather in May

How likely are we to get caught up in monsoons in May? Guide books give conflicting advice, some saying they start in April some in June(Lonely Planet contradicts itself!). And if we do how long dies the rain last? I%26#39;m hoping for lots of sunshine.

If at all the monsoons start in May, it would be in the very last week round about the 27th or so in the TRV area. There may be a few pre monsoon showers. Once the monsoons set it, its anyone%26#39;s guess. Sometimes it rains for hours on end, sometimes for days on end. But the monsoons have their own beauty, when you experience it, you will agree I am sure. The last few years, it did not start until the first week of June. Expect the last 2 weeks of May to be over cast at times. The weather will be very humid. Sunshine guaranteed !! Perhaps a bit too much for comfort. Enjoy your holiday.

Weather in May

Spent end may/beg June in kerala two years ago. It was lovely weather, bit humid, but boy when the rain came---it didn%26#39;tlast long but was worth seeing. One evening we were in a taxi that had poor windscreen wipers and the driver had to wipe th inside of the windscreen with a cloth to remove condensation. I have never seen so much rain...we can laugh now.....
