Duty Free and stopovers

This is just to let people who are stopping off en-route to be careful when buying duty free. For example, if you buy duty free in the UK and stop off in Bahrain, then they are likely to take it off you when you arrive. If you know that you will be stopping in the middle east then buy your duty free over there, it will be much cheaper anyway.

They seem to have become much stricter than they use to be.

Duty Free and stopovers

never took ours of us,

flew out of manchester 26th jan stopped at bahrain, with a bottle of wine

stopped on the way back on 10th feb with bottle of honey bee

again no problems

Duty Free and stopovers

Did you have it in your hand luggage as that%26#39;s what I meant?

We have been looking at flights for April and on the Odyssey website it now states that you shouldn%26#39;t take UK bought duty free into Bahrain.

We came back via Qatar yesterday and bought some duty free but they only allowed us to purchase it because we didn%26#39;t have any other stopovers before our final destination in Manchester. A russian lady in the next queue was having her expensive duty free cosmetics removed from the boxes and put into a clear plastic bag.

yep bought my wine in manchester airport

and bought my honeybee in duty free at goa

cause i forgot a bottle for a friend

both went through the scanners in my hand luggage at bahrain
