We are interested in hiring a driver to taxi us around triangle for only 3 - 4 days. Would we hire one person? Can we get driver one-way or does driver find place to stay overnight? How can we find reliable person? (I have seen the self-promoting posts!)

Hiring driver Delhi-Agra-JaipurWhy dont you look for train bookings? Driver and car would work out expensive. I would say about Rs 10-12000 if you would be keeping the car and driver for all days to drive you around everywhere.
You could find out for a dependable car and driver from the hotel where you would be staying. They would give you a dependable guy, But i wonder on the how ecenomical it would be.
Get in touch with a few travel and tours companies and get their rates.
Hiring driver Delhi-Agra-JaipurHiring one or hiring three (one for each leg of journey) have there own pros and cons...hiring one means that the driver will understand your preferences and act accordingly all 3-4 days...hiring one for each leg may save u money but having to deal with 3 ppl in 3 days might be a bit too much...n u might not get the car of ur choice all the time...in a nutshell, atleast for golden triangle do it with one driver...
u won%26#39;t get a one way driver (which means u will always pay for two way)
asking driver to find acco for you is the worst u cud do on a holiday...
I suggest u start looking for places to stay over internet(or maybe browse these forums) and then once u hv shortlisted a few then ask for opinions from ppl on this forum..
alternatively u cud do all three journeys in flights, u won%26#39;t miss much in flights and u cud hire cabs for local site seeing at each of these places...
a little more on cabs...they charge u a minimum of 200 kms everyday even if u stay parked..so for 4 days u need to shell out charges for 800 kms plus 100-150 rupees for driver%26#39;s night stay...DELHI-AGRA is just about 200 so no issues there...AGRA-JAIPUR is more than 230 so no issues there and JAIPUR-DELHI is over 250 so nothing thr as well...and assuming you do 30 kms of local sight seeing at each of these places u will cover 800 kms in four days....so u won%26#39;t and up paying any extra bucks...
