We are arriving late at night by train into NJP en route to Darjeeling. Is there any budget accommodation (clean, safe etc. obviously) right beside the train station that we could just tumble into to sleep before pressing on for Darjeeling the next morning or should we go to Siliguri? I imagine there will be taxis there to meet the train etc.
And is there any Siliguri budget accommodation that has a website? (10 euro per night for two people sort of price)

Siliguri should offer you more options hotelwise and you can catch the DHR toDarjeeling from there. We stayed at the Cindrella and left early morning to catch the train without any problems.
You%26#39;ll have to check out the price though as it may well be over your budget. I believe there are links on tripadvisor to find local hotels. Just type in Siliguri hotels in the search box.
