As I%26#39;m basing myself in Cochin and travelling outside only for day trips as my mother is elderly , and it would be too much for her .

So I%26#39;m looking for trips from Cochin itself , the backwaters or anything else you can suggest . If you have websites then that would be great .

There is a tourist office just near the Ernakulam jetty close to the Taj hotel. I went on a 4 hr backwater trip booked through them a couple of years ago. Dont have the contact details but you could check keralatourism.org

This is shorter than the Allepey backwaters cruise.

You can also do a Cochin harbour cruise which is very pleasant - even for your mother, and on your own you can take the public ferry especially from Fort Cochin to Vypeen Island and look out for the dolphins who always follow the ferry boats. You can visit the lighthouse at Vypeen - too strenuous for mother - and also spend time at Cherai beach further down. Fort Cochin is nice for wandering around the antique market area near the synagogue, may be strenuous for mother but she can always sit at a nearby restaurant.

You can also book Ayurvedic spa treatments for yourself and your mother - your hotel will advise you on this.
