Going to India in December for wedding shopping, going first time after 24 years. Can someone tell me what is the best part of mumbai to stay in terms of shopping - Indian outfit (men) and all the norm? I have been recommended to visit Santa Cruz, Bandhra, Anderie area. Is this correct advice.
Secondly, where should i stay if for example i wanted to shop in the Santa cruz region? i.e. in Santa cuz or Juhu beach area. Is that far from Santa cruz.
Am i expected to pay nearly 拢100 per day for a decent hotel? is this the price i should be expecting or should i be paying a lot less - for a 3/4 star - should be clean and in a good location other luxuries is not to much concern, any recommendations then let me know please? really appreciate it
More info required for Mumbai - any advice?
There%26#39;s shopping both in western suburbs (Santacruz, Juhu, Andheri) as well as in south Mumbai. Staying in Bandra/Santa Cruz makes sense. Try Executive Enclave in Bandra. Search on this Forum for all our earlier posts on wedding shopping. A lot of it is advice for women, but the same shops stock menswear. Specialist mens wear shops are Millionaire Men and Benzer Men. I would bet my last dollar on Roopam and Sheetal in South Mumbai (in terms of finding stuff that you like).

For your budget, you will just about manage a 3 star so you shouldn%26#39;t be expecting to pay less.
I am headed to Mumbai in a couple of weeks to attend a wedding. I will have only a few days to shop for outfits to wear to the wedding. I will be staying in MIG Club in Bandhra. Did you find any good shopping in this area?
Hi,we (my wife+son) just came back from Mumbay,We stayed in Colaba (impressive British architecture);best Bombay district. For me the only accepted place. We slept in a good hotel (Cowey%26#39;s-Oliver Rd.)-';next door'; to reccomended Bentley Hotel.I do not advice to stop in Bentley- unpolite manager,don%26#39;t keep reservation(even prepaid 10 days before).Cowey%26#39;s is clean,quiet,2500Rp(60US$).
good luck-Piotr
Anita66,
If I%26#39;m not mistaken, MIG Club is in Bandra (East). So, you%26#39;ll need to come to Bandra (West) for shopping.
The Inorbit mall in Malad (W) has many big names under one roof (eg. Biba, Sheetal, Millionaire, Jashn, Fabindia etc.) If someone is staying in the suburbs, it may be worth their while to visit the mall. The travel time to the mall from Bandra should be around 1 hour and its closer to Santacruz, Andheri and Juhu.
In Juhu, one could go to the Juhu Supreme Shopping centre where Kala Niketan is located (they%26#39;re having a sale these days). Also, there are small boutiques in this area.
Santacuz (west) market has a lot of shopping.
So, take your pick.....
Wow, an hour seems a long distance to go to do shopping! Anything closer? I am not looking for designer stuff.
Anita,
For you, the suggestion was Bandra (W), Linking Road and Hill Road. At Hill Road, there%26#39;s Elco Shopping Centre where you get good dress materials etc.
