How Busy??

Can any recent returned TAs or residents advise how busy Goa is now? I recall from posts early in January that tourism was down on last year and would just like an update.

How Busy??

I was in Candolim December 2007 and it was very quiet. I got back last week from a 2 week Feb stay and found Candolim beach and resort much busier though the British element seems to be down quite a lot. The shack I use had no spare beds some days but still said they were well down on last year. My friend who has a shack at Morjim says he is more than 50% down on this time last year with customers averaging 30 a day compared to 80 this time last year.

How Busy??

Tourism is down on last year (and the year before). It%26#39;s pretty quiet in the south at the moment. I know at least one shack owner who%26#39;s thinking of taking his shack down at the end of March.

We were out there in january and february. General opinion amongsts the locals was that the visa problems in england had reduced the number of tourists coming from britain. They reckon a huge increase in tourists coming from russia and other east european countries
