From my experience, i would book through your holiday rep. When you do this you are covered insurance wise.

You will really enjoy the trip. It is worth the money.

You could also check out Day tripper tours.

Had a really good day out last week with Sandy from Ice %26amp; Spice bar in Candolim. He charged us £30.00 each. He picked us up from hotel and took us for a private one to one with the elephants. We spent an hour in the river with them and fed them and had the usual elephant shower etc. He then took us to a fantastic Hindu Temple and showed us around, then onto the Cashew nut factory then onto the spice plantation where we had a guided tour and lunch including beer and feni. This was all inclusive and did not have to pay any more. If you are staying in Candolim pop in and see him, it was well worth the money. Please tell him Victor sent you.

We went to Goa in January - the main reason was to wash an elephant!! We booked with an agent in Baga and went in a privste car for the day into the jungle. We were able to have an elephant ride, a ride in a cart pulled by bullocks and then to bathe in a beautifully clean river with the elephants before washing them and then having a %26#39;power shower%26#39;. There were four elephants - one older one and three babies. We also saw monkeys roaming freely. All this included a breakfast and lunch and cost 4000IRU.We also had an elephant show watching them play football, basketball etc. It was an absolutely magnificent day and will stay in my memory forever. The elephants had a wonderful relationship with their handlers and looked extremely well cared for. I would thoroughly recommend this outing.

Hi Silversurf traveller

The elephant trip sounds wonderful. Can you remember the name of the agents in Baga?

Please check with your rep that you are insured, I know someone who had a very nasty accident on a trip booked through their rep but because it was through an outside company could not claim but was told they would have been covered if the trip had been booked in the UK but for trips booked in resort, which are through an outside company, any claim must be made against that company not your tour operator. As the company were based in Egypt this proved impossible. The first time we went we took trips with the rep %26amp; ended up travelling around hotels in a rickity old bus for most of the day.
