Went to Goa last year and now going back next year. Loved Mapusa market and the others but I would like to go to the nearest place outside of Goa where there are shopping malls etc, anyone got any ideas for me also not forgeting recommends for a good place for filling the belly. thanks all.

If you are a shopahollic then you must go to Mumbai or Bangalore where there are plenty of malls to shop at and loads of places to eat at.

Mumbai and Bangalore are just an hours flight from Goa.Have fun.

Hmm - well, they were interesting replies!!

If you really want to go outside Goa to shopping malls, then Mumbai probably is your best bet. Most towns in Karnataka or Maharashtra are quite small and much less westernised than anything you find in Goa.

Did you go to Panjim? There are some good shops there, including Levis, Benetton, Adidas, Lee Cooper etc and some excellent Indian shops as well as any number of places to eat well (and not necessarily at the Delhi Darbar, which I personally think is overrated).

grsshopper, you should hop over to margao. great indoor market,really interesting. loads of shops and only about an hour from calangute in a taxi. quite a vibrant town.

mind you don%26#39;t get squashed though.by jiminy.
