Choki Dhani - suitable for 6 & 2 year olds?

We will be in Jaipur in early Mar for a 3D/2N tour on our own (hired car %26amp; driver) from Delhi. Here are some questions that hopefully, will be answered. Thanks.

1. How many hours from South Delhi to Jaipur? Where to stop for breaks along the way ? How is the weather during early Mar? Very hot in d day n cold at nite?

2. Is Choki Dhani suitable for young kids? What is the latest price per person(found many dif pricing in d web) for the dinner n entertainment? What time do they start?

My tentative itinerary:

Day 1:

Delhi - Jaipur; visit Galtaji Temple - Sisodia Garden - dinner at Choki Dhani ; Is the elephant ride at Amber Fort still available in the afternoon around 3 to 4pm?

Day 2:

Amber fort/Jaigah Fort- Lunch at Niros%26#39;s/Surabhi - City Palace - Jantar Mantar - Hawa Mahal - Shopping?

Day 3:

Visit a %26#39;real%26#39; palace - Samode or Ramgarh Palace?

After lunch head for Delhi.

Any suggestions?? Thanks.

Hi,

last summer we visited India/Jaipur and at that time the elephants at Amber Fort was available only a few ours in the morning - we missed it, unfortunately because we didn%26#39;t know. So I suggest you check it!

Have a nice journey.

Best regards

Lis

Thanks Lis, any info is good info!

I was at Chowki Dani last week. I would say it is fine for all ages of children, provided they are happy sitting on the floor for the dinner part of the evening.

I think it was rs 275 per person for everything but this could be wrong - if wrong it%26#39;s less.

I think dinner started at 7:30. We were reliably told it%26#39;s best to go on the early side to avoid waiting.

The crowd was mostly Indian families which we loved - few people who looked like European or American tourists. Almost all entertainment was included in the price. The vibe/atmosphere is really lovely - nice families and friends enjoying themselves. One reason we thought was the total lack of alcohol - at comparable State Fair things in the US there are often a few young males who%26#39;ve had too much beer and generate a bit of tension, this was lacking.

Some of the Rajasthani folk dancing girls were a bit pesty about looking for tips - just know if you get up and dance with them and have someone take your picture, they%26#39;ll want some money. We didn%26#39;t do any of things.

1. It is about 5 hours from Delhi to Jaipur

2. Elephant ride at Amber fort is mostly mornings and not very reliable these days

3. Shopping for fabrics and home items: I like Anokhi, good quality, fixed prices and the cafe next door is very good (a crisp fresh salad that you can eat without worries).

4. I like Samode Palace, the interior is spectacular.

There is an entrance fee that you can apply to lunch.
