hi we,ve stayed at the village royale for the last two years we fly out to goa on the 7th jan but will be staying at the osborne purely because no deals at the village royale.it,s basic but the staff are wonderfull.it,s a little far out from calangute centre but free transport is provided twice in the mornin and twice in the afternoon from the hotel to the centre and vice versa.however you can get a taxis from outside the hotel at a cheap price.100 rupees to calangute and 150 rupees to baga,tuk tuk are even cheaper 50 rupees to calangute and 70 rupees to baga but these are,nt outside hotel.rooms at the village royale are fairly large consisting of two hard single beds,wardrobe,fridge,and a fan.bathroom is wet room.there is a laundry service around 10 rupees a item,food is lovely and cheap.a large kingfisher only 50 rupees,a meal is around 100 rupees on average.most nites they provide some sort of entertainment.there,s a massage place,beauty shop,and jewellery shop on site.

We are staying in the Village Royale in April. Can you tell me what problems you had? I know it seems to be a bit of a distance from the main town but I%26#39;ve read such conflicting reviews. Really excited because our visas arrived today but now worried again. Thanks for your opinion in advance. Jayne

were staying at the village last weeek april only for a week , we just had a month there over xmas and new year had brill time

the hotel is basic but clean rooms cleaned everyday towels and sheets too

the lads are great especially vinny and joseph they will do every thing they can to help

yhe food in the hotel is very very good the restaurent was packed nearly every night

its about a 15min walk to the beach but they do put on buses to take you there and pick you up

were struggling at moment to get back in village for month mytravel say they might not be doing 28 nights to goa this year but will let us know after easter

looks like wel hav e to book with monarch i know they got monopoly on 28 nights at min

Thank you so much , She, for responding to my post. You don%26#39;t know what a relief it is to have someone be so positive about the Village Royale. We got such a cheap deal there for April that I%26#39;ve been worrying that maybe it was a dump. Then I read reviews of it being very basic with lovely staff, then reviews of people saying don%26#39;t go there! I%26#39;ve been really anxious. We%26#39;ve stayed in Candolim on our previous two visits and wanted to get out of our comfort zone and stay in a different area. We know that Goa hotels can be very basic but we wanted somewhere clean and friendly. Hopefully that is what we%26#39;ll get at the Village Royale. If we aren%26#39;t happy there I guess we%26#39;ll ask around some hotels for their room prices and availability but really wouldn%26#39;t know where to begin!!! Any suggestions? Jayne
